# Set Product Variants and Pricing Rules

> Configure size and color variants, set individual variant prices and stock levels, and apply promotional pricing in Zentrix Cloud Products.

Variants let you sell one product in multiple options, such as different sizes or colors, each with its own price and stock count. Pricing rules help you run promotions without editing every item manually.

  <Step title="Open a product">
    In the Catalog, select the product you want to add variants to.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add variant options">
    Define the options you need, such as Size and Color. The system will generate every combination automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set variant details">
    For each combination, enter the SKU, price, and starting stock quantity. You can leave the base price blank if every variant has its own price.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Save the product. The variants are now available at the point of sale and on your storefront.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Not every variant needs the same price. A large size or premium color can cost more without creating a separate product.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Edit variant prices">
    Open the product, go to the variants section, and enter the price for each combination.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Compare to base price">
    The base price acts as a default. Variant prices override it only for that specific option.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  If most variants share the same price, set the base price first. Then adjust only the exceptions, such as a deluxe option.
</Tip>

  <Step title="Choose products or variants">
    Select which products or specific variants the promotion applies to.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the discount and dates">
    Enter a fixed promotional price or a percentage off. Choose a start and end date. The discount applies automatically during that window.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and activate">
    Check the list of affected items, then activate the promotion. Prices revert automatically when the end date passes.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Promotional prices override variant prices while active. Make sure the end date is set so pricing returns to normal.
</Warning>

<Note>
  Exact field names for variant options, promotion types, and discount rules may vary. Check the in-app UI for the current labels.
