# Mobile Stockroom: Count and Transfer Stock by Phone

> Scan barcodes, count stock, and move inventory between branches using the Zentrix Cloud mobile stockroom on any iOS or Android device.

The Zentrix Cloud mobile stockroom puts stock management in your team's hands — literally. Staff can scan barcodes, count inventory, and move stock between locations using any smartphone, without leaving the floor. There is no dedicated hardware to buy and no desktop required — just the Zentrix Cloud app and a device that fits in a pocket.

## What you can do

The mobile stockroom supports the everyday tasks your team needs to keep inventory accurate and organised:

* **Look up stock levels** — Scan any product barcode to instantly see current quantities at the current location and across other branches.
* **Perform stock counts** — Run a count for a specific location, aisle, or product category. Zentrix records any discrepancies against your expected quantities.
* **Record stock movements** — Transfer units between locations as needed, for example, moving 10 units from your Warehouse to Branch 2. The movement is logged and both location totals update immediately.
* **Receive new deliveries** — When a supplier delivery arrives, use the mobile stockroom to scan items and confirm quantities against the associated purchase order. Stock levels update as soon as you confirm.

## Getting started

Follow these steps to get a staff member set up and using the mobile stockroom for the first time:

1. **Grant access** — The account owner must give the staff member Stockroom permission. Go to **Settings > Staff & Permissions**, open the staff member's profile, and enable the **Stockroom** permission.
2. **Install the app** — The staff member downloads the Zentrix Cloud app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) on their smartphone.
3. **Sign in** — Open the app and sign in using the staff member's Zentrix Cloud credentials. The app will reflect the permissions assigned to that account.
4. **Navigate to Stockroom** — Tap **Stockroom** from the main menu. All available tasks — stock count, stock movement, and receive delivery — are listed on the home screen.
5. **Select a task and follow the prompts** — The app guides you through each step. All changes sync to the central Inventory dashboard in real time as you go.

  Stock counts can run in the background while your POS counter is still active. You do not need to close the register or pause sales — there is no downtime required.
